AMIE & SuSIE – Annual Meeting and Summer School on Imaging in Epilepsy, Epilepsy Surgery, Epilepsy Research and Cognitive Neurosciences – 2020 online
When founded in 2015, the Summer School on Imaging in Epilepsy (SuSIE) was a pure teaching event for adult and pediatric epileptologists. Since that time, the SuSIE has undergone continuous further development. It is now a multidisciplinary forum that invites all professions with an interest in development, application, processing and interpretation of neuroimaging for exchange of ideas and experiences. Several industrial partners have been joining us for several years now, acknowledging that the SuSIE, more than any classical congress, offers an excellent opportunity to introduce users to their products by hands-on workshops.
Since offering all scientific, teaching and sponsor related activity within the traditional 3.5 days SuSIE format was no longer feasible, we have made the following changes to the format:
- Annual Meeting on Imaging in Epilepsy (AMIE) from Monday to Wednesday
- Summer School on Imaging in Epilepsy (SuSIE) from Wednesday to Friday.
However, due to the current COVID-situation, the AMIE & SuSIE 2020 had to move to an online format. Nevertheless, with the exception of clinical hands-on scientific workshops, all formats will be offered:
AMIE Online Scientific Workshops: On September 14th and 15th, 2020, 10 scientific workshops for epileptologists, neurologists, neurosurgeons, radiologists, neuropsychologists and neuroscientists will be held.

AMIE Sponsored Workshops: On September 14th and 15th, 2020, 5 sponsored workshops introduce into the products of BESA, Brainlab, Epilog, Inomed and Natus.

AMIE Permanent Virtual Exhibition: This new online neurotech platform helps everybody (clinicians, scientists, representatives of companies, even publishers) working in the neuro sector looking for technical solutions, specialist’s know-how and cooperation partners.
A computed algorithm matches your self disclosed profile (profession, field of interest, technique of interest) with the profile of exhibitors and guides you to the virtual booths relevant for you. You may also send a request for contact to the exhibitors.
The current cycle of the AMIE Permanent Virtual Exhibition lasts from August 2020 to August 2021. Further exhibitors are welcome to join the exhibition anytime.

SuSIE Online Lecture Day: On September 16th, 2020, from 9 to 17:30 h CEST 13 teaching lectures will be held on epileptological MRI and advanced MRI analysis, functional neuroimaging, 3D-coregistration and surgical planning.

On September 17th, 2020, from 19:00 to 21:00 h CEST two outstanding SuSIE Key-Note Lectures will be held:
From 19:00 – 20:00 h CEST Prof. Alexander Radbruch, Director of the Institute of Neuroradiology, University Hospital Bonn, will talk about “How AI changes everything in radiology!?”
From 20:00 – 21:00 h CEST Prof. Helen Cross, Chair of Childhood Epilepsy and Head of the Developmental Neuroscience Programme at UCL-Great Ormond Street Institute of Child Health, and newly elected President of the ILAE, is going to present a talk on “The earlier – the better? Epilepsy Surgery in Children”.

The AMIE & SuSIE 2021 will again be held as a “classical” face to face event.
