Mentoring Programs

At the request of ILAE's Young Epilepsy Section (YES), a new peer-to-peer mentoring program is being introduced at the 33rd International Epilepsy Congress in which experienced fellows and post-docs act as mentors for younger colleagues (under 40) at the congress and possibly, beyond. Express your interest via the IEC registration system; deadline 29 March 2019.

Mentor-Mentee Programme

This programme will match an experienced mentor with a trainee. Application is available through the 33rd IEC abstract system and the applicant must submit an abstract to the congress to apply. Mentor-Mentee program information and application

Commission
Talking Shops

Commission Talking Shops are informal, interactive sessions organized by our regional and topical commissions. Their goal is to let our members know what the commissions are working on, define problems that we need to address and seek ideas from our members. The sessions will include brief presentations by senior and junior ILAE members with time dedicated for comments from everyone attending. Through these sessions we hope to enhance professional interactions among people with common interests and to develop new ideas as we move forward

2018 was a fruitful year in terms of epilepsy related meetings/activities in South Africa. A number of Paediatric Epilepsy Training 1 (PET 1) courses were held throughout the country, and South African faculty supported further PET courses in other African countries.
